The 4th Annual Historic Mobile Street Renaissance Festival

This year marks the 4th Annual Historical Street Renaissance festival. The festival is a three day event that takes place in downtown Hattiesburg. The festival will be held from October 2nd to October 4th. The festival will commemorate the history of music and culture of African American entertainment. The event has been a success in the previous years and hopefully this year's festival will be no different. The opening act for the festival will be Vasti Jackson, a muscian who performed at Eaglepalooza in 2006.

In between Saturday's performances there will be cook-offs, boxing matches and more on stage performances. The renaissance festival will come to an end on Sunday around 3pm, that evening there will be a gospel service at First Trinity Baptist Church. All proceeds from the festival will go towards the USM center for black studies technology and the Mobile Bouie neighborhood.
