The de Grummond Children's Literature Collection

The de grummond Children's Literature collection was founded in 1966 by Dr. Lena Y. de Grummond. The collection's purpose is for children's literature. The de Grummond collection boasts over 1,200 authors and illustrators, thousands of published books and original work filled with illustrations. The de Grummong collection is located in the McCain Library of The University Of Southern Mississippi as a part of it's special collections.

The de Grummond collection not only serves as an exhibit but it also serves as a resource material for scholars in various fields. Along with the actual exhibit, there are virtual exhibits that include work from Ezra Jack Keats and Kate Greenaway. The virtual exhibits have been funded by The Hattiesburg Arts Council and The University Of Southern Mississippi Foundation. One of my personal favorites is "Curious George Comes To Hattiesburg" by Margret Ray.
